The mission of Sugar Creek Elementary School is to put children first by positively supporting diversity within a safe learning community while in pursuit of excellence through an engaging curriculum and a love of learning.

From the Principal

Welcome to Sugar Creek Elementary! My name is Michelle Gritz and I am proud to be Principal at Sugar Creek.  This is my 16th year of being an educator in the Fort Mill School District. Our vision at Sugar Creek is putting children first, striving for excellence and building positive relationships. The vision of our school stems from our school district’s mission.  Family and community are the foundation of Sugar Creek.  I truly believe that a successful education is a joint effort between the school and the home. Communicating effectively with parents and the community is an important way to keep families informed of class activities, PTO and school events. Bringing families into the school will remain a priority for us at Sugar Creek Elementary. Our school’s focus this year will be on Teaming Together Towards Excellence. Our staff will be working hard on implementing standards based instruction and innovative practices, as well,  as integrating technology into their lessons.   We are striving to prepare all students to be 21st century thinkers and problem solvers. I look forward to continuing my educational journey at Sugar Creek and to serving our students, staff and families. I am privileged to be the mother of three boys- Braden (3rd grade), Nicholas (1st grade), and Gabriel (4 years old) and the wife of Chris Gritz.

SCES Angel Gift Tree
Christmas Angel Clipart
Please consider giving a gift to support children and families at SCES who need extra support this holiday season! Each paper angel has a "wish list" from the child of a family in our school.  Enjoy shopping for wish list items and bring the wrapped gifts to the office or during carpool by Wednesday, December 10th.  Please make sure to attach the angels to the outside of your wrapped presents!
Thank you for helping to give all of our families a blessed holiday season!

Fort Mill School District Check Acceptance Policy

Your check is welcome at all schools in Fort Mill School District #4.  Fort Mill School District #4 recognizes that occasionally a parent may inadvertently overdraw a checking account and a check may be returned by your bank.  In order to recover these funds in a private and professional manner, Fort Mill School District #4 has contracted with CHECKredi of Alabama, a company based in Huntsville, Alabama for collection of returned checks.

Each person writing a check to a school or the school district should write the check on a commercially printed check with their name, address and one phone number. Counter or starter checks will not be accepted. When a person writes a check to a school or the school district, the person writing the check agrees that, if the check is returned, it may be represented electronically on the same account and that the fee established by law may be debited from the same account.

If the check and fee are not collected electronically, then CHECKredi will contact you by mail and by telephone in order for you to make arrangements to pay. Payments may be made to CHECKredi by mailing to 4925 Sparkman Drive or to P.O. Box 3829 Huntsville, AL 35810. Payments of the check and fee may be made electronically at www.checkredi.com by using a credit card, debit card or electronic check without additional fee.  For a convenience fee, payments may be made over the telephone by credit or debit card or electronic check by calling toll free (877) 524-7334.

In addition to thanking all of our Shark families, staff and everyone who pledged for Sharkathon, a BIG THANKS to the PCI Group, who made an incredible $2,500 pledge towards this year's Sharkathon. THANK YOU for your generous donation!!
